Task

The automatic gas concentration measurement system installed on quarry equipment (excavators and dump trucks) is essential for ensuring personnel safety in harsh conditions. The customer needed to ensure the integrity and operability of their system by protecting it from vibration and shock loads. Initially, the customer used rubber vibration isolators for equipment protection. However, since the equipment operates in the Far North, rubber isolators became brittle at subzero temperatures and failed after weeks of dynamic loads. As a result, the equipment suffered serious damage and was effectively unrecoverable.

Solution

We designed a vibration-isolating platform based on cable vibration isolators that fully meet the operational conditions. The characteristics of these cable isolators remain stable within a temperature range of -65°C to +65°C. This ensured the required natural frequency for effective protection against vibrations from the power unit and shock loads during operation.

Result

During testing on a BELAZ-7513 dump truck and an EKG-15 tracked excavator, the customer’s equipment operated without failures or damage for several months. Based on these results, the customer decided to serially implement our vibration isolation platforms for their equipment.
